Natanael Cano Defends 'Corridos Tumbados,' Releases New Album at Mexico City Listening Party

Natanael Cano passionately defended his 'corridos tumbados' genre, declaring, "They're going to have to kill me" during a listening party for his new album, 'Natanael Cano Vol.1,' at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City. The artist, hailing from Hermosillo, recreated a Sonoran desert landscape on stage, emphasizing his deep connection to his roots.

During a conversation with Pepe Garza, Cano addressed the scrutiny his genre faces from authorities. He reiterated his dedication, stating, "I love to sing, I love to write, I love to share it with the people, and that's how it will be until they kill me." The album features 15 tracks, with a special tribute to his inspiration, Ariel Camacho.

The listening party also included surprise guests like Gabito Ballesteros and Javier Rosas. Cano even performed a cappella a fragment of his controversial song "Cuerno Azulado," which has faced alleged censorship. He titled the album "Volumen 1" to signify the beginning of his extensive career.

This event served as a prelude to the album's digital release and his upcoming concerts. Natanael Cano is scheduled to perform at the Estadio GNP in Mexico City on September 18 and 19, where he will officially present the LP and perform his greatest hits.
