National Assembly panel seeks payment of media workers’ outstanding dues

Pakistan’s National Assembly Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting has demanded that overdue salaries and other payments owed to media workers be cleared without further delay.

Lawmakers raised the issue at a meeting chaired by MNA Pullain Baloch at the headquarters of the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation. They expressed serious concern over continuing non-payment and delays affecting employees across the media industry.

The committee said media workers should not be forced to suffer because government institutions had outstanding liabilities. It also stressed that paying salaries on time remains a basic responsibility of media organisations.

The panel called for effective action from all relevant authorities to protect the financial rights of media employees. It requested comprehensive details of salaries and other financial dues still pending against media organisations.
