National Livestock Vaccination Project launched in North Al Batinah

North Al Batinah has launched its National Livestock Vaccination Project for the 2026/2027 season, with a target of reaching more than half a million animals across the governorate’s wilayats.

The campaign will operate through six veterinary clinics and two mobile veterinary units. Officials said the project combines field operations with digital technologies and data to improve veterinary services, protect livestock and support food security.

Nasser Ali Al Marshoudi, director general of agriculture, fisheries and water resources in North Al Batinah, described the campaign as part of Oman’s wider efforts to promote animal health, prevent disease and sustain animal production.

The previous vaccination season delivered more than 900,000 vaccine doses to over 449,000 livestock. A total of 4,325 beneficiaries used the vaccination services.

For the new season, officials aim to reach more than 70% of the governorate’s livestock population. The program will also introduce a digital vaccination platform to improve follow-up, manage field data, measure performance and support decision-making.
