Nayarit government and DIF bolster child welfare agenda, reinforcing public policies

The government of Nayarit, in collaboration with the DIF Nayarit system, is actively advancing a public agenda aimed at ensuring the well-being and comprehensive development of children and adolescents within the state. This initiative is closely aligned with the national strategy for child protection.

Governor Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero and Beatriz Estrada Martínez, president of DIF Nayarit, spearheaded the First Ordinary Session of 2026 for the System for the Integral Protection of Children and Adolescents (SIPINNA) Nayarit. During the session, a commitment was reaffirmed to strengthen public policies that guarantee the holistic welfare of the state's youth. Xóchitl María Estrada Ornelas, the executive secretary of SIPINNA Nayarit, presented a report detailing the progress made through coordinated efforts between state and municipal agencies to prevent, address, and restore the rights of minors.

Governor Navarro Quintero urged for the consolidation of governments with a humanist vision, emphasizing their commitment to safeguarding childhood and fostering a more just and secure society. He posed a rhetorical question to the attendees, asking if they desired to eradicate crime, to which the resounding answer was affirmative. "We have to do it. We must do it," he stated, underscoring the moral imperative to protect children. "There is no more difficult witness than our conscience when a child is mistreated. We must be congruent, humanist, serious, transparent governments that do not seek laughter, but happiness, that find peace within themselves."

Beatriz Estrada Martínez highlighted that enhanced institutional collaboration is crucial for advancing policies that improve living conditions for children and adolescents. She stressed the importance of ensuring safe environments, equal opportunities, and the full exercise of their rights. This session marks a significant step in consolidating coordination between governmental bodies, prioritizing the needs and rights of Nayarit's youth.
