NBA election observers arrive Osun ahead of Saturday’s election

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has dispatched its National Election Observers Team to Osun State to monitor Saturday's governorship election. The team's arrival in the state on Friday signals the association's dedication to overseeing the electoral process and upholding the rule of law.

Festus Okoye, Chairman of the NBA Election Working Group, leads the delegation. The NBA stated that this deployment "underscores the association’s commitment to promoting credible elections, respect for the rule of law and compliance with established electoral processes." The observers arrived in Osun after a stopover in Akure, Ondo State, where they were received by local NBA members.

The election takes place amidst significant attention to security concerns and political tensions in Osun State. The NBA's involvement is part of broader efforts by civil society organizations to ensure electoral compliance and document developments. Fourteen political parties have candidates cleared to contest the poll, including the incumbent governor and the candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
