NBBF/Zenith Bank Women’s Premier League second phase tips off today

The second phase of the 2026 Nigeria Basketball Federation and Zenith Bank Women’s Premier League begins Saturday, with the Atlantic Conference playing in Port Harcourt and the Savannah Conference in Zaria.

MFM Women Basketball Team remain the Atlantic favorites after winning all their games in the opening phase at Lagos’ National Stadium. They begin in Port Harcourt against IGP Queens, who finished bottom of the conference without a victory in Lagos.

Saturday’s other Atlantic fixtures feature Victoria Queens against First Deep Water, First Bank against defending champions Dolphins, and Bayelsa Blue Whales against Royal Aces. Dolphins must produce a strong campaign to defend their title and avoid relegation, while IGP Queens need to improve to escape the drop.

In the Savannah Conference, Titans face Kada Angels in the opening game. Kada Angels failed to appear in Jos during the first phase. NAM Warriors, another team absent from Jos, will play ASO SKY Queens. Air Warriors meet Nasarawa Amazons, and Nigeria Customs face Plateau Rocks in the final game.

The top four teams in each conference will qualify for the Final 8 in Lagos. The league champion will be crowned there.
