NCC Leases Digital Hub in Enugu to State Government

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has formalized a 15-year operational lease of its Digital Industrial Park and Learning Centre in Enugu to the Enugu State Government. This move signifies the NCC's commitment to advancing Nigeria's digital economy agenda by expanding digital opportunities.

These facilities were conceived as platforms for innovation, entrepreneurship and human capital development.

Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman and CEO of the NCC, announced the partnership during a handover ceremony in Enugu. He described the facilities as crucial platforms intended to cultivate the talent, innovation, and businesses that will drive Nigeria's digital future. Maida expressed satisfaction with handing over the facilities to a state government that has demonstrated the vision and commitment necessary to utilize them effectively.

"These facilities were conceived as platforms for innovation, entrepreneurship and human capital development," Maida stated. He elaborated that they are designed to enhance digital skills, foster startups, attract investment, generate employment, and position Nigeria as a competitive center for business process outsourcing, knowledge process outsourcing, and other technology-driven services. Maida emphasized that the initiative extends beyond physical infrastructure, focusing on building capacity, broadening opportunities, and supporting enterprises within the digital economy.
