NCP set to join Koshi Government, oath-taking today

The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) is poised to join the government in Koshi Province, marking a significant political shift. This move follows a three-point agreement established with the CPN-UML party during the first week of the Nepali month of Shrawan.

The power-sharing arrangement allocates four of the province's nine ministries to the NCP. The CPN-UML will retain leadership, securing five ministries, including the crucial chief minister's position. This distribution reflects a strategic alliance aimed at consolidating political control within the province.

With numerous party members aspiring for ministerial roles, the NCP is currently engaged in internal deliberations to select its representatives. Indra Bahadur Angbo, the leader of the NCP's parliamentary party, confirmed that the final ministerial picks would be decided today. Following this decision, an oath-taking ceremony is planned for this afternoon, expected to take place after 3 p.m., formalizing the new government's composition.
