NDC ratifies 2027 primaries, begins reconciliation

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially ratified and endorsed the outcomes of its nationwide primaries held in preparation for the 2027 general elections. The National Leader of the NDC, Seriake Dickson, announced this decision following the National Executive Committee's (NEC) second meeting.

Dickson, a former governor of Bayelsa State, stated that the NEC reviewed reports from across the federation and commended the electoral committees, officials, volunteers, aspirants, and supporters for their dedication to the successful conduct of the primaries. This endorsement comes despite allegations of manipulation raised by some aspirants who participated in the exercise. The party has yet to officially release the detailed results of the primaries, which included presidential, national assembly, and governorship elections held on May 29.

The committee resolved to boost grassroots mobilization and expand membership across the country, reinforcing party structures at all levels as preparations for the 2027 general elections gain momentum.
