The club's official statement noted, "Following an ankle injury, our player Wilfred Ndidi underwent an MRI at Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital, which revealed a ligament injury in his ankle. Our medical team has started treatment for the player." However, Beşiktaş has not disclosed the severity of the injury or a specific recovery period, leaving his participation in the crucial qualifier uncertain.

This injury poses a considerable challenge for newly appointed Beşiktaş manager Vincenzo Italiano, who was relying on the experienced midfielder for the team's European campaign.
