NDLEA seizes 380 military-grade bullets in Kaduna raids

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have intercepted 380 rounds of military-grade ammunition in Kaduna State, Nigeria. The ammunition was found during a patrol along the Abuja-Kaduna Highway at Jere on May 24, with a 30-year-old suspect, Sunusi Musa, allegedly transporting it to Katsina State.

In Kaduna, NDLEA operatives arrested a couple: Musa Sunday and Mercy Sunday, along with another suspect, Salomi Ezekiel, 38, following the seizure of 100 jumbo bags of skunk with a gross weight of 1,246 kilograms from their home at Gonin Gora area of Kaduna on Sunday, May 24.

In a separate operation in Kaduna, NDLEA officers arrested a couple, Musa Sunday and Mercy Sunday, along with another suspect, Salomi Ezekiel. The trio were apprehended following the seizure of 100 jumbo bags of cannabis, weighing 1,246 kilograms, from their residence in the Gonin Gora area of Kaduna on May 24.

The NDLEA also reported interdictions in other states. In Niger State, 457 kilograms of cannabis were recovered from a warehouse in Gidan Kukah, Bosso Local Government Area, leading to the arrest of Godwin Zakka. In Enugu State, operatives intercepted a commercial vehicle on the Onitsha-Enugu Expressway, recovering 2 kilograms of illicit drugs.

In another interdiction operation in the state, NDLEA officers on patrol along the Abuja-Kaduna highway by Jere, same day, intercepted a 30-year-old suspect, Sunusi Musa, with 380 rounds of military-grade ammunition, RLA 7.62mm, going to Katsina state. The suspect and the exhibit have since been handed over to the appropriate security agency for further action.

Furthermore, the agency uncovered consignments of high-potency illicit drugs concealed within water purifier machines shipped from the Netherlands to Lagos. The seized drugs, including 3 kilograms of ketamine and 199 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy) pills, were discovered at a courier company in Lagos on May 26. The suspect found with the ammunition and the recovered ammunition have been handed over to the appropriate security agency for further investigation.
