A massive flood in Nepal's Rasuwa district has left nine South Koreans out of contact, with locals describing the affected area as completely destroyed. A Nepalese rescuer involved in the operation stated that a river flowing between Nepal and China "swept away an entire town." The rescuer, Lakpa Tsheri Sherpa, 39, who participated in rescue efforts after hearing about the disaster, reported that the area is without internet or electricity. "The life or death of the missing people is not confirmed at all," he said, adding that he planned to return to assist after a short break.

While Kathmandu, located over 100 kilometers away, has not suffered direct physical damage like power or water outages, the atmosphere there is described as chaotic due to the intensive rescue and support activities by the South Korean Embassy in Nepal and the Nepalese government.
