Nepal-made Yatri P-2 electric scooter launched with range of up to 157 km

Nepali brand Yatri has unveiled its latest electric scooter, the P-2, a vehicle designed, engineered, and manufactured entirely within Nepal. This launch marks a significant step for local automotive production, with Sipradi Trading collaborating to introduce the new model.

The Yatri P-2 comes equipped with three distinct battery configurations. The top-tier 5.2 kWh model boasts an impressive range of up to 157 km on a single charge. Smaller options include a 3.7 kWh battery providing up to 112 km and a 3 kWh battery offering up to 90 km. A key feature is its support for DC fast charging, with Sipradi Yatri planning to install chargers at 35 locations nationwide to enhance convenience for longer journeys.

Beyond its range and charging capabilities, the P-2 integrates modern smart features, including compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, alongside a real-time energy meter and a smart display. The scooter underwent rigorous testing across diverse terrains and conditions throughout Nepal, from plains to challenging mountain roads, before its official release.

Sipradi Yatri intends to invest approximately Rs 600 million into the P-2's production facility, aiming for an annual output of up to 50,000 units. This investment underscores a commitment to bolstering Nepal's manufacturing sector and promoting electric mobility within the country.
