Nepal Oil Corporation to resume regular LPG distribution through authorized sellers

The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) is set to resume its standard Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) distribution process, moving away from the special arrangements implemented over the weekend. Starting Monday, consumers will need to purchase cooking gas through the authorized sellers appointed by their respective gas companies.

Over the past Saturday and Sunday, the NOC had established special distribution points to manage demand. However, the corporation now directs consumers to seek out the most convenient authorized seller and purchase LPG through the regular system. This shift aims to streamline the process and ensure a more consistent supply chain.

To enhance organization and efficiency, the NOC has introduced a comprehensive five-point system. This system mandates that gas companies must provide the NOC with daily updates on their sellers and distributors, including contact information and available cylinder stock. Concurrently, LPG sellers and distributors are required to maintain daily sales records, noting consumer names and contact numbers, and submit these details to their respective gas companies weekly.

Furthermore, the NOC has established a Quick Response Team (QRT) for consumers facing urgent needs or unable to obtain gas from nearby sellers. The corporation has provided two contact numbers for the QRT: 9851455124 and 9851455128. The NOC is also working with district administration offices, via the Ministry of Home Affairs, to ensure the safe transportation and distribution of LPG, with a joint monitoring team comprising NOC and Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection personnel overseeing the process.

Consumers who are unable to obtain gas from a nearby seller for any reason and urgently need LPG can contact the Quick Response Team (QRT) operated by the NOC.
