Nepal rainfall to ease from Wednesday, authorities warn of risks

Rainfall across Nepal is expected to ease from Wednesday, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM). The country has been experiencing widespread precipitation due to the influence of monsoon winds and the monsoon trough's position north of its average.

Tonight, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is anticipated in many hilly and Tarai regions of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces. A few places in the hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces may also see moderate rain with thunder and lightning. Heavy rainfall could occur tonight in one or two locations in the hilly and Tarai regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
