Nepal's Horaa Esports reaches PUBG Mobile World Cup finals in Paris

Nepal's Horaa Esports has clinched a spot in the prestigious PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026 grand finals in Paris. The team earned a direct qualification by securing fourth place in Group B, a bracket widely considered the tournament's most challenging.

Horaa Esports navigated a fierce 16-team competition to finish among the top five, securing their place in the 32-team World Cup finals. After 12 intense matches, the Nepali squad accumulated 98 points, including one "Chicken Dinner," the term for a match victory.

The team outperformed renowned international competitors, including former world champions S2G Esports from Turkey and Thailand's eArena. The roster features Suraj Lama (nofear), Aakash Sotang Rai (Skyhoraa), Shital Rai (Sleepyyhoraa), Ugyen Tshopel Lama (MafiaNinja), and Prabesh Gurung (HaitDami).

The grand finals, scheduled from August 14 to 16 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, will see 16 teams vie for the world title and a share of the $3.025 million prize pool. The champion will receive $500,000. By reaching this stage, Horaa Esports has already secured approximately Rs90 million, a substantial payout regardless of their final standing.

Horaa Esports now carries the aspirations of Nepal's burgeoning esports scene onto the global stage. Their participation marks a significant moment for Nepali sports, as the five players prepare to compete against the world's elite PUBG Mobile teams.
