Netanyahu's 'Insolent Accusations' Mean Nothing, Says Turkish Party Leader

Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli has vehemently denounced Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent statements directed at Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Bahçeli characterized Netanyahu's comments as "baseless accusations" and "insolent claims" that hold no weight for Turkey.

Speaking at a parliamentary group meeting, Bahçeli described Israel under Netanyahu's leadership as a "crisis production mechanism" that disrupts regional peace. He pointed to Israel's violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon and its opposition to the US-Iran nuclear accord as evidence of its destabilizing role in the region, including in the Eastern Mediterranean and around Cyprus.

Bahçeli asserted that targeting President Erdoğan is a clear indication of Netanyahu's "impotence," "haste," and "exhaustion." He suggested that Netanyahu's attempts to lecture Turkey on morality and criticize Erdoğan stem from a place of desperation, particularly given the international scrutiny of Israel's actions in the Middle East. Bahçeli stated that such "miserable statements" from those seeking political gain through bloodshed would not be dignified with a response.

Furthermore, Bahçeli stressed the importance of the US-Iran nuclear agreement being realized in practice, not just on paper. He called for guaranteed passage security in the Strait of Hormuz and for nuclear program discussions to proceed under international law and oversight mechanisms. Bahçeli concluded by referencing the "Turan Corridor," a route extending from Kars to the Turkic republics, framing it as a strategic key to the "Century of Turkey" and a gateway for economic and geopolitical advancement.
