Network 10 moves 10 News+ from weekdays

Network 10 is shifting its 10 News+ news and current affairs program from nightly weekday broadcasts to a single weekly airing on Sunday nights, effective August 10.

From Monday, August 10, 10 News will expand to 90 minutes from Monday to Friday, with more resources being invested into the local 5pm news bulletin to deliver audiences more of the local stories, breaking news and in-depth reporting they rely on.

The network announced that its 5pm local news bulletin will be extended from one hour to 90 minutes on weekdays. This change aims to invest more resources into the local news delivery, providing audiences with more local stories, breaking news, and in-depth reporting.

10 News+ was launched in June 2025, following the cancellation of the news and entertainment program The Project. The weekly program will continue to air on Sunday nights at 6:30pm, offering viewers compelling investigations and long-form journalism, which the network states remains central to its news offering. Amelia Brace and Denham Hitchcock will continue to host the Sunday broadcast.

Network 10 stated that fewer than five staff members are expected to be made redundant as a result of these changes. Affected staff will be redeployed to the expanded weekday bulletin. The company also reiterated that there are no plans to outsource its news service.
