Neurosurgeon Li Weiyu has publicly announced his departure from Li General Hospital after three decades of service, expressing disappointment that the hospital administration failed to acknowledge his dedication. Dr. Li stated that his initial goal in medicine was simple: to help patients recover and to foster an environment where doctors could practice freely and patient rights were protected. Currently, he and his team are focused on ensuring a smooth transition of care for all patients.

The situation escalated when, despite reaching a consensus on new contract terms in mid-July, the hospital delayed signing. According to Dr. Li, the hospital then modified its demands, leading to a deadlock. Consequently, the hospital immediately canceled all his outpatient appointments and scheduled surgeries. Dr. Li expressed deep regret for the sudden decision and, more importantly, for the anxiety caused to patients awaiting appointments and surgeries, apologizing for the inconvenience and distress.

Li General Hospital responded by stating they respect Dr. Li's statement. The hospital issued its own statement acknowledging that multiple discussions were held to find mutually agreeable terms for the renewed contract. However, due to an inability to agree on certain conditions, the contract renewal could not be finalized. The hospital expressed regret over the outcome and thanked Dr. Li for his past contributions, also thanking patients and the public for their understanding and support.
