New Executive Committee Elected at Nepal National Ethnic Museum

Kumar Blon Tamang has been re-elected as the chairperson of the Nepal National Ethnic Museum, securing another three-year term. His re-election occurred during the museum's general convention held on Saturday, signaling continuity in leadership for the institution dedicated to preserving Nepal's rich cultural tapestry.

The convention also saw the election of a new executive committee. Ran Bahadur Thami was appointed as the first vice-chairperson, and Gangamaya Dhimal as the second vice-chairperson. Indira Jimi will serve as the general secretary, Engineer Sanu Babu Prajapati as secretary, Rup Bahadur Yonjan as treasurer, and Bhim Prasad Yonghang as joint treasurer. The committee includes members representing various ethnic communities across Nepal.

This newly elected leadership is tasked with advancing the museum's mission over the next three years. Their objectives include making the preservation, promotion, documentation, and intergenerational transmission of languages, cultures, arts, traditions, attire, lifestyles, and intangible cultural heritage more effective. The museum plays a vital role in safeguarding and celebrating Nepal's multi-ethnic, multilingual, and multicultural identity.
