New German car arrives in Argentina: 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds

BMW Group Argentina has unveiled the new BMW M2 CS, the pinnacle of its compact coupe line, at the Roberto Mouras Autodrome in La Plata. This high-performance model, produced exclusively in Mexico, represents the most potent and exclusive iteration of the M2.

The M2 CS is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder M TwinPower Turbo engine that delivers an impressive 530 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque. This power surge translates to a blistering acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 302 km/h. Power is channeled to the rear wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission with Drivelogic and paddle shifters.

Beyond its enhanced powertrain, the M2 CS incorporates significant weight-saving measures. The use of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic in various body and cabin components, including the roof, trunk lid, rear diffuser, mirror housings, seats, and center console, reduces its weight by approximately 30 kg compared to the standard M2. This focus on weight reduction contributes to its agile performance.

Further enhancing its dynamic capabilities, the M2 CS features a modified suspension system that lowers the ride height by eight millimeters. It also boasts an adaptive M chassis with Comfort, Sport, and Sport Plus modes, an M Sport differential for electronic torque distribution to the rear wheels, and M carbon-ceramic brakes. The vehicle is fitted with 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged bronze wheels and can be optioned with circuit-specific tires.

Alongside the M2 CS, BMW Group Argentina also presented other new models, including the BMW M440i xDrive Cabrio, MINI John Cooper Works Countryman ALL4, and the MINI John Cooper Works GP Inspired Edition. The BMW F 450 GS motorcycle completes the series of five launches. Argentina is set to be the seventh largest market globally for the M2 CS, despite its limited production.
