New Program Launched in Oman to Strengthen Family Stability for Couples

The "Companionship of Life" marital counseling program has commenced at the University of Dhofar, marking a significant initiative to bolster family stability in the Dhofar Governorate. This three-day program is being implemented by the Ministry of Social Development.

The program is specifically designed for engaged couples and newlyweds, aiming to equip them with essential life skills crucial for a successful and enduring marriage. It is structured around four key pillars: the foundational elements of building a happy and stable family; understanding different personality types and one's life partner; fostering effective communication and harmony within marital relationships; and guidance on family planning.

Through three distinct training sessions, a panel of specialists will cover a range of vital topics. These include practical advice on financial planning, comprehensive family planning strategies, the importance of pre-marital medical screening, and the fundamental principles that contribute to a contented and stable family life. The sessions will also delve into communication techniques and compatibility assessments in marriage.

By providing targeted education and resources, the "Companionship of Life" program seeks to enhance awareness and provide practical tools for couples navigating the early stages of married life. The initiative underscores the Ministry of Social Development's commitment to supporting strong family units within the community.
