New Taipei City Candidate Seeks Mayor's Support; Rival Focuses on Positive Campaign

New Taipei City mayoral candidate Li Sichuan is reportedly seeking to have incumbent Mayor Hou Yu-ih lead his campaign headquarters. This potential collaboration has drawn a response from Democratic Progressive Party candidate Su Chiao-ching.

Su Chiao-ching stated she is unfamiliar with Li Sichuan's campaign rhythm or the structure of his campaign headquarters. However, she emphasized her own campaign's clear strategy, which involves extensive grassroots engagement and policy proposals. She highlighted the unified front of her 36 councilor candidates, forming a "strongest New Taipei team."

Addressing her own campaign's momentum, Su Chiao-ching announced a significant push starting the day after the 100-day mark before the election. She also confirmed that President Lai Ching-te will attend her campaign headquarters' establishment assembly on September 5th. Su Chiao-ching believes these events reflect a commitment to bringing a "new era" to New Taipei City.

"Our generation wants to use campaign methods that continuously propose policies and visions, hoping to make New Taipei City citizens feel positive, sunny, and energetic," Su Chiao-ching said. She stressed that each campaign event signifies an attitude aimed at informing citizens about the impending changes.
