New Taipei City Mayor: Linkou to attract media, smart parks, creating over 2,000 high-paying jobs

New Taipei City Mayor Hou Yu-ih is spearheading initiatives to transform the Linkou and Bali districts, focusing on economic development and infrastructure enhancement. A key announcement involves the introduction of media and AI smart parks in Linkou, projected to generate more than 2,000 high-paying job opportunities.

The city government is committed to advancing foundational infrastructure and industrial planning. This includes the significant 105 City Road improvement project, designed to connect major highways like Provincial Highway 61, Provincial Highway 64, and National Freeway 1, thereby improving traffic flow between Linkou and Bali. The mayor emphasized that these projects are crucial arteries for both transportation and industrial growth.

In Linkou, developments include the optimization of parks and green spaces, advancements in industry, and improvements in social welfare and education. The district has seen an increase in administrative divisions to accommodate a growing population, with enhanced public services to ease administrative processes. Future projects in Linkou include the completion of National Freeway 1 interchange improvements, the opening of covered basketball courts, and the planning of a new light rail line.

Bali district is also set for transformation, with plans for new industrial parks and a waterfront recreational zone along the Left Bank. The development of the Bali Second Ossuary and eco-friendly burial sites is slated to begin, creating a modern memorial park that balances humanistic care with environmental sustainability. Mayor Hou highlighted the city's dedication to supporting grassroots services and precisely allocating resources to meet local needs through action-based governance.
