New US Ambassador to Seoul Arrives, Vows to Strengthen Alliance Under Trump's Vision

Michelle Park Steel, the new U.S. ambassador to South Korea, arrived in Seoul on Sunday, filling a diplomatic post vacant for over a year and a half. Steel, the first Korean-American ambassador to Seoul, expressed her commitment to strengthening the already robust alliance between the two nations.

Steel, a former Republican U.S. Representative, highlighted her intention to build upon President Trump's vision for the alliance. Her arrival marks the end of a significant diplomatic gap, with the last ambassador, Philip Goldberg, departing in January of the previous year.
