New weather system to bring rain to Santiago on Sunday

Santiago is bracing for significant rainfall as the current weather system, affecting the country from north to south, is set to deliver up to 90 millimeters of rain to the capital. Arnaldo Zúñiga from the Directorate of Meteorology of Chile (DMC) provided an update on Friday, detailing the expected precipitation.

The current rains in Santiago will continue with moderate intensity before tapering off. Zúñiga indicated that lighter rain is anticipated for early Saturday morning. While there's a possibility of some sunny intervals appearing in the afternoon on Saturday, the weather is expected to turn again.

Meteorologists are forecasting a shift back to cloudier conditions towards the afternoon and evening of Saturday. This precedes the arrival of another weather system. A new frontal system is expected to reach the region on Sunday, bringing with it further precipitation to the capital.
