NewJeans surpasses 8 billion Spotify streams

K-pop sensation NewJeans has achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 8 billion cumulative streams on Spotify. This remarkable feat was reached on August 18, approximately four years and one month after their debut. The group's global popularity continues to grow, even during periods of activity hiatus.

NewJeans has a history of setting records on the platform. In March 2023, they were recognized by Guinness World Records as the fastest K-pop artist to accumulate 1 billion cumulative streams, achieving this in just 219 days. By September 2024, they had reached 5 billion streams, and in the subsequent two years, they added another 3 billion streams, largely driven by the sustained popularity of their existing tracks.

Every song released across NewJeans' five albums has garnered over 100 million streams. Their tracks 'Ditto' and 'OMG' have each exceeded 900 million streams, while 'Super Shy' has surpassed 800 million and 'Hype Boy' has reached over 700 million streams. As of July, NewJeans boasts approximately 13.28 million monthly listeners on Spotify, with the highest listenership coming from the United States, followed by Indonesia, Japan, and Brazil.
