NFF congratulates title-winning Eagles, Falcons

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has lauded Nigerian international footballers, both men and women, for their recent triumphs in winning league and cup titles across various European leagues. NFF President Ibrahim Gusau expressed immense pride in the players' achievements, highlighting their strong performances as a positive indicator for the national teams.

"The NFF is very happy with the achievements of these players in their various clubs and Leagues," Gusau stated. "It is a thing of joy to see our players winning trophies here and there, as it presents assurance that they are in good form to deliver whenever any international match or tournament comes up."

Among the celebrated players is Super Eagles' star forward Victor Osimhen, who secured the Turkish Super Lig title with Galatasaray. Defender Zaidu Sanusi also became a league champion with FC Porto, while Terem Moffi contributed to a title win after joining on loan. In Scotland, Kelechi Iheanacho was instrumental in Celtic FC's league and cup double in his debut season. Defender Igoh Ogbu also celebrated winning the Czech First League with Slavia Prague, and goalkeeper Francis Uzoho's Omonia Nicosia clinched the Cypriot First Division.

Further successes include defender Oluwasemilogo Ajayi, whose Hull City earned promotion to the English Premier League via the Championship play-off final. For the Super Falcons, midfielder Christy Ucheibe amassed multiple trophies in Portugal with SL Benfica, including the Taça de Portugal Feminina, Taça de Liga Feminina, and Super Taça de Portugal Feminina. Defender Shukurat Oladipo was recognized as the best defender in Italy's Serie A Femminile as AS Roma won the title, with forward Rinsola Babajide also contributing to the team's success.

The NFF congratulated the players, wishing them continued success and urging them to maintain their high level of performance. The federation views these individual and team achievements as vital for building confidence and ensuring readiness for Nigeria's international commitments.
