Nha Trang shop fined 50 million dong after shoes sent to Russia found to be fake

A pair of Nike shoes and a pair of Adidas shoes bought in Nha Trang and sent to Russia led to an inspection of the store that sold them. The shoes were later identified as counterfeit, not genuine products.

L.T.T. said she visited Sport Market on Tran Quang Khai Street after seeing advertisements from well-known bloggers and KOLs in Nha Trang. She paid 1.3 million dong for the two pairs to send to her boyfriend in Russia. Store employees reportedly assured her that the shoes were authentic.

After the shoes arrived, a specialist in Russia examined them and determined they were fake or replica products. When T. contacted the shop, she said it refused to resolve the issue or refund her money, citing the absence of an invoice.

Following her complaint through Khanh Hoa's public feedback system, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade directed Market Management Team No. 1 to investigate. Inspectors found that Sport Market was selling shoes bearing Nike and Adidas marks that showed signs of infringing protected trademarks in Vietnam.

The authorities fined the business 50 million dong for trading goods with counterfeit trademarks and ordered it to destroy 180 pairs of shoes. The penalty was announced on September 5 by the leadership of Market Management Team No. 1.
