Nicky Wu Returns to Taiwan to Join Singer Jiang Yuheng for Concert

Veteran Mandopop singer Jiang Yuheng is set to host his "Jonnie's Gala" concert at the Taipei Pop Music Center on June 27. In a surprise announcement, the organizers revealed that Nicky Wu, a prominent figure from the "classic" era of Chinese music, will join Jiang on stage. This collaboration is expected to generate significant buzz among fans.

The concert's "Feast" theme will be amplified by a unique 60-meter red carpet, allowing ticket holders to experience a celebrity-like entrance. Jiang hopes this gesture will show deep respect to his long-time supporters. Coincidentally, the concert falls on the same night as the 37th Golden Melody Awards, creating an interesting parallel between Jiang's "Feast" at the Taipei Pop Music Center and the prestigious awards ceremony at the Taipei Arena.

He expressed gratitude to his fans for their 42 years of musical journey together. The event boasts musical direction from Li Shouquan, leading a 30-person orchestra and featuring legendary musicians like Huang Rui-feng. Lyricist Wang Zhong-yan serves as the chief planner, crafting evocative text to guide the audience through Jiang's four-decade career.

This reunion with Li Shouquan, a friend of over three decades, marks a significant collaboration, as it's Li's first time as music director for Jiang's concert. The concert will include Jiang's greatest hits like "Love Me," "Looking Back Again," and "Restless Heart." Jiang has personally overseen the setlist and visual design to ensure a memorable experience for attendees. He even advised fans to bring two phones, one for photos and another for interactive elements, promising added fun. The highest-priced VVIP tickets, at NT$20,000, sold out instantly, with other ticket tiers also in high demand.
