Niemann holds lead after second day of LIV New York

Chilean golfer Joaquín Niemann solidified his strong start at the LIV Golf New York tournament, retaining his first-place position after Friday's play. Niemann, who began the tournament at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster with an impressive opening round of 64 strokes, seven under par, continued his high-level performance with a second-round score of 65.

Niemann has yet to make a bogey in the competition. In the second round, he achieved six birdies on holes 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, and 18. These under-par scores brought his total to 13 under par, giving him a five-stroke advantage over Britain's Lee Westwood, who is in second place. Spain's Sergio García is currently in third position, six strokes behind Niemann.

This performance allowed Niemann to extend his lead significantly from the first round, where he had been two strokes ahead of his closest competitors. His consistent play and impressive scoring have positioned him as the clear frontrunner heading into the final rounds of the tournament.
