Niger Governor Appoints Six Commissioners-Designate and Four Advisers

Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago has appointed six commissioners-designate and four political aides in a move the state government said would strengthen governance and improve service delivery.

The nominees are Lucky Barau of Gurara, Isah Wakili of Bosso, Isah Adamu of Kontagora, Emmanuel Alamu of Magama, Shuaibu Saidu Kaboji of Mashegu, and Mohammed Danladi Garba of Borgu local government areas.

Bago also appointed Nma Kolo as chief political adviser. Yahaya Emilugi, Yusuf Tagwai and Salman Yusuf were named special advisers on political matters for Zones A, B and C respectively.

The appointments were announced in a statement by Abubakar Usman, secretary to the Niger State government. The statement said the selections formed part of the administration’s effort to improve service delivery and ensure broader representation across the state.

The six commissioner-designates are expected to appear before the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation, as required by law.
