Nigeria Aims to Make Army University Biu a Top Military and Tech Hub

Nigeria's federal government is committed to elevating the Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) into a premier institution for specialized military and civilian training. This strategic move aims to bolster the nation's human capital and enhance the Armed Forces' capacity to confront complex security threats.

Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, affirmed sustained support for NAUB, emphasizing its crucial role in developing technical and operational expertise. He highlighted the Ministry's collaboration with the Armed Forces to fully utilize the 30% admission quota reserved for military personnel. This initiative seeks to bridge specialized skills gaps within the national security landscape.

"As the Federal Government pushes for a highly skilled workforce in this digital era, we must encourage members of the Armed Forces, ministry staff, and the general public to leverage the cutting-edge technological and academic solutions available at NAUB," stated General Musa, according to a release by his Special Assistant on Media, Leah Katung-Babatunde.

Discussions also focused on urgently addressing critical infrastructural needs on campus. A state-of-the-art Center for Military Performance Management, potentially the first of its kind in Africa, is among the planned projects. Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, Pioneer Pro-Chancellor of NAUB, commended General Musa's leadership and dedication, assuring the minister of the university's commitment to academic excellence and national service.
