Nigeria Police Arrest 50 Suspects, Recover Anti-Aircraft Launcher in Nationwide Operation

The Nigeria Police Force has achieved a significant breakthrough in its sustained offensive against criminal syndicates across the country. In a nationwide operation, 50 suspects have been arrested, and a substantial cache of high-grade weapons, including a formidable anti-aircraft launcher, has been recovered. From January 2026 to date, operatives have successfully dismantled various clandestine cells, recovering rifles, an anti-aircraft launcher, ammunition, communication devices, and other items.

The operations, spearheaded by the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team, have led to the dismantling of various clandestine cells. Among the most notable achievements is the apprehension of a 33-member gang responsible for acts of terrorism, cattle rustling, and a violent attack on a church in Kwara State. Furthermore, arrests have been made in connection with the killing of three police officers in Donga, marking a crucial step towards justice for the fallen officers.
