Nigeria suspends visa application services in US, directs direct applications

Residents in the United States seeking Nigerian visas must now submit their applications directly to the Nigerian Embassy in Washington, D.C., or its consulates in New York and Atlanta. This change follows the suspension of services provided by Online Integrated Solutions (OIS Services), the company that previously operated Nigeria's Visa Application Centres in the US.

Effective from July, 2026, the service of Online Integrated Solution (O15 SERVICES), the operator of Nigeria’s Visa Application Centres in the United States of America, has been suspended until further notice.

The National Immigration Service (NIS) announced the suspension, stating it is effective from July 2026 and remains in place until further notice. The NIS did not provide a specific reason for suspending OIS Services or indicate a timeline for a review of the arrangement. This development occurs several months after the US imposed a partial visa ban on Nigeria and other African nations, which included bond requirements for certain visa categories.
