Nigerian Army Chief commends First Lady's financial support for fallen heroes' families

Nigeria's Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has commended the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) for its significant support to the widows and families of fallen heroes from the Armed Forces and Police. The commendation came during the second edition of the RHI's financial support presentation event held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The event, organized by the Office of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, under the RHI Social Investment Programme, saw the First Lady herself in attendance, alongside other senior military and security officials. General Shaibu described the initiative as a "profound demonstration of national appreciation and solidarity" with those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.

He stressed that supporting the families left behind is not merely a humanitarian duty but a fundamental national obligation. "Caring for those they left behind remains a collective and enduring responsibility," Shaibu stated, adding that sustained support honors their sacrifices and strengthens the morale and fighting spirit of currently serving troops.
