Nigerian man announces end of marriage after wife's inability to forgive him for following another woman

Ebikédoumene Bonny Jeff, a Nigerian man, has announced the dissolution of his marriage, citing years of marital discord and unresolved issues. The announcement came via a Facebook post on Saturday, August 8, 2026, which would have been their fifth wedding anniversary.

I mistakenly followed another woman to her notice and she vowed not to forgive me in life. I begged her to forgive me for years but she refused.

Jeff described his wife, Yinlayefa, as a supportive partner who stood by him through financial difficulties. He recounted how she supported the family and secured a job at the Federal University, Otuoke, while he was searching for employment. They married on August 8, 2021, after he found a job in 2019. However, their marriage was later strained by the death of a child from a subsequent pregnancy and unresolved conflicts from earlier years.

Adding to the marital strife, Jeff admitted to "mistakenly" following another woman on social media, an act his wife found unforgivable. He stated he begged for forgiveness for years, but she refused. This incident, coupled with other grievances, led to a significant decline in affection and support between them, resulting in prolonged conflicts and emotional distance.
