Nigerian Model Competes at Miss World 2026 in Vietnam

Tamunosoye Karibi-George, the newly crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026, has arrived in Vietnam to represent Nigeria at the ongoing 73rd Miss World Festival. The 26-year-old beauty queen from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is among contestants from various countries vying for the prestigious Miss World crown.

Karibi-George earned the Miss World Nigeria 2026 title at the Balmoral Hall in Lagos, triumphing over 19 other finalists. Although she represented Bayelsa State in the national competition, she hails from Port Harcourt. She has now joined her international counterparts in Vietnam for the diverse activities and challenges leading up to the global pageant's grand finale.

Known popularly as Soye, Karibi-George is a trained communications professional with a strong interest in advocacy, public engagement, and social development. She pursued her studies at Madonna University, Okija, following her secondary education. She is also an associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

Beyond her professional and pageantry pursuits, Karibi-George is recognized for her advocacy for children with special needs. She founded 'Beyond Labels,' an initiative dedicated to promoting inclusion, dignity, and empowerment for these children. Her work focuses on creating a society where disabilities do not define individuals, but rather opportunities are provided for them to discover their abilities, develop talents, and achieve their ambitions.

Karibi-George is no stranger to international pageantry. Prior to winning the Miss World Nigeria crown, she was crowned Miss Africa International 2024 in Accra, Ghana. This previous international experience provided her with valuable exposure and preparation for the global Miss World stage. She succeeded Joy Mojisola Raimi, who represented Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World pageant in India, reaching the Top 20.
