Nigerian Rotarians' Lost Luggage Recovered by Nangang Police

A group of delegates from Nigeria's Rotary Club experienced a moment of distress when they accidentally left their luggage in a taxi after arriving at the Nangang Exhibition Center in Taipei for a world conference. The incident caused significant anxiety among the foreign visitors.

Officers from the Nangang Precinct of the Taipei City Police Department responded promptly to the report. Police officers Li Yan-jie and Wang Ting-yu arrived at the scene and communicated with the delegates in English. They learned that the group had used a ride-sharing app, which provided a record of the trip's locations and the taxi's license plate number.

Utilizing police systems, the officers were able to quickly identify the taxi owner and contact the driver. The driver, upon being notified by the police, proved to be very helpful. He immediately checked his vehicle and confirmed that the luggage was still in the car. He then personally drove the luggage back to the Nangang Exhibition Center to return it to the relieved owners.

Upon seeing their luggage safely returned and undamaged, the Nigerian delegates were immensely relieved. They expressed their heartfelt thanks to both the police officers and the taxi driver in English and broken Chinese. The Nangang Precinct took the opportunity to remind the public, especially during busy events at the exhibition center, to always double-check their belongings when leaving taxis or public transport, emphasizing the importance of keeping passports and valuables secure.
