Nigerian troops neutralize two terrorists in Kebbi operation

In a significant counter-terrorism operation, troops from Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have successfully neutralized two suspected Lakurawa terrorists in the Sabarumawa axis of Kebbi State. The operation, conducted on June 27, was prompted by credible intelligence indicating that the terrorists were planning an imminent attack on the Sabarumawa community.

They strategically established a tactical ambush along the suspected route of the terrorists' advance, aiming to foil the planned assault. Following the engagement, troops conducted a thorough search of the area and recovered two AK-47 rifles, two AK-47 magazines, 143 rounds of live ammunition, and a motorcycle that was likely being used by the militants.

Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force, disclosed these details in a statement issued on Sunday. He reaffirmed the military's steadfast commitment to sustaining offensive operations against terrorist groups and other criminal elements operating across the North-West region. Danja urged the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to bolster ongoing counter-terrorism efforts.
