NiMet forecasts 3-day cloudiness, thunderstorms across Nigeria

Nigeria is set to experience a three-day period of cloudiness and thunderstorms, according to forecasts from the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet). The weather outlook predicts varied conditions across the country from Monday to Wednesday.

In the northern region, Monday will begin with sunny skies and scattered clouds, but morning thunderstorms are expected in parts of Taraba, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, Kebbi, and Kaduna states. By afternoon and evening, thunderstorms with moderate rains are anticipated over Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Bauchi, Gombe, Borno, Yobe, Jigawa, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Adamawa, and Taraba states.

The North-central region will also see morning thunderstorms with light rains in areas including Plateau, Niger, Benue, Nasarawa, Kwara, Kogi, and the Federal Capital Territory. These will transition to thunderstorms with moderate rains in the afternoon and evening hours. Similar patterns are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, with intermittent rains also forecast for parts of the southern region, including Ogun, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Abia, and Lagos states.
