NiMet forecasts 3-day sunshine, cloudiness from Sunday

Nigeria can expect a mix of sunshine and cloudiness over the next three days, according to the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet). The forecast, released in Abuja, indicates varied weather patterns across the country from Sunday to Tuesday.

In the northern regions, sunny skies with scattered clouds are predicted for Sunday. However, the agency anticipates chances of thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rains in parts of Taraba, Adamawa, and Kaduna states during the morning hours. By afternoon and evening, these thunderstorms and moderate rainfall are expected to extend over Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Adamawa, and Taraba states.

The North Central region will also experience thunderstorms with moderate rains. Morning forecasts include these conditions over parts of Plateau, Niger, and Nasarawa states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory. In the afternoon and evening, thunderstorms and moderate rains are anticipated across Kogi, Benue, Plateau, Niger, Nasarawa States, and the FCT.

For the southern region, moderate rains are expected in the morning hours over parts of Ondo, Ogun, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Lagos, and Bayelsa states. The agency predicts moderate rains over the entire southern region later in the day. Similar patterns of thunderstorms and moderate rains are forecast for Monday and Tuesday across these regions, with specific state-by-state predictions provided by NiMet.
