NiMet predicts three-day cloudy, thundery weather

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a forecast predicting widespread cloudy conditions and thunderstorms across Nigeria for three days, from Sunday to Tuesday. The agency's outlook, released in Abuja, details expected weather patterns for different regions.

In the northern part of the country, NiMet anticipates sunny skies interspersed with clouds, alongside a chance of early morning thunderstorms and light rains in states like Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Borno, Taraba, and Adamawa. By afternoon or evening, moderate rains and thunderstorms are expected across most of the region.

The North Central region is also forecast to experience sunny skies with cloud patches and early morning thunderstorms, bringing light rains to areas including Kwara, Niger, Kogi, and the Federal Capital Territory. Similar to the north, afternoon and evening hours are expected to bring thunderstorms with moderate rains.

For the southern region, cloudy skies are predicted, with chances of light morning rains in parts of Oyo, Delta, Bayelsa, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom. Later in the day, moderate rains are forecast for several southern states, including Ondo, Ekiti, Osun, Imo, Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom.
