Nine Doosan Enerbility survivors rescued in Nepal return to South Korea

Nine Doosan Enerbility workers rescued from a major flood site in Nepal returned to South Korea on Aug. 31, five days after the flooding occurred.

The workers had become isolated while building a hydropower plant and were rescued on Aug. 27. After arriving at Incheon International Airport, they underwent medical examinations before returning to their families. No health problems were reported.

Their site manager remained in Nepal to support search operations as much as possible. Nine other South Koreans who had been staying elsewhere remained out of contact. A Doosan helicopter began searching for them on Aug. 31, while a government joint rapid-response team started a land search.
