NLNG awards contracts for three new vessels

Bonny Gas Transport Limited (BGT), a subsidiary of Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), has awarded contracts for the construction of three new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers. The deal was made with Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group and China Shipbuilding Trading Company, marking a significant step in BGT's fleet renewal and replacement program.

These new vessels are designed to modernize NLNG's shipping operations and enhance efficiency throughout its LNG value chain. Each carrier will boast a substantial cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters. A key feature will be the integration of advanced X-DF propulsion technology, which is engineered to significantly improve fuel efficiency while simultaneously reducing emissions compared to older LNG carrier designs.
