NNPC warns public against scammers falsely selling refinery scrap materials

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) is sounding the alarm over a deceptive scheme targeting the public, involving individuals falsely purporting to sell scrap materials and equipment from the company's refineries. NNPC Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Andy Odeh, issued a stern denial, stating unequivocally that no bids, tenders, or approvals have been granted for the sale of any such items from its Port Harcourt, Warri, or Kaduna facilities.

NNPC Limited has not issued any request for bids, tenders, expressions of interest, or approvals for the sale of scrap materials, refinery components, or any items from the warehouses or inventories of any of its refineries.

This alert serves as a crucial public service announcement, cautioning against fraudulent individuals who may present themselves as NNPC representatives. The company stresses that these actors are unauthorized and are attempting to mislead the public. Stakeholders and the general populace are urged to exercise extreme vigilance and to disregard any solicitations related to the sale of refinery scrap.
