No average-speed cameras on temporary motorway beside Antwerp ring road

The planned average-speed camera system on the temporary motorway beside Antwerp’s ring road will not be installed.

The road, known as the bypass, forms part of the area affected by the Oosterweel works. Lantis, the project’s construction client, had wanted average-speed checks to keep traffic speeds on the new road low.

Flemish Mobility Minister Annick De Ridder of the N-VA will not approve the plan, Gazet van Antwerpen reported.
