Nolan's 'Oppenheimer' Tops 4-Week Box Office, Surpasses 510,000 Tickets Sold

Christopher Nolan's directorial effort, 'Oppenheimer,' is demonstrating remarkable staying power at the South Korean box office. In its fourth week since release, the film has sold over 515,000 tickets, a figure that continues to climb and solidify its position as the top-selling film.

This sustained success is particularly noteworthy when compared to the performance of previous blockbusters. For instance, 'The Roundup: Punishment,' which drew 11.5 million viewers, had only sold approximately 100,000 tickets by its 22nd day. Similarly, 'Assassination' (2015) and 'The Roundup: Hostage' (2022), both with over 12 million admissions, had sold around 150,000 and 80,000 tickets respectively by their 25th day.

'Oppenheimer' has not only maintained its strong ticket sales but has also consistently held the number one spot at the box office and in advance ticket sales since its premiere. The film is now on the cusp of surpassing 8 million cumulative viewers, a testament to its enduring appeal.

The film chronicles the journey of Odysseus, the hero who led the Trojans to victory in the 10-year war. He embarks on a quest to return to his wife Penelope and son Telemachus, facing challenges in his kingdom where usurpation and power struggles have taken hold in his absence.
