Nomad Games Draw More Than 3,000 Athletes and 600 Cultural Events

More than 3,000 athletes from 104 countries took part in Kyrgyzstan’s Sixth World Nomad Games, while the event’s cultural program brought together more than 600 activities across the country.

The program included international festivals, concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions, master classes, aitysh contests, creative competitions and ethnocultural projects. One of the main venues was Kyrchyn, where organizers created the “Universe of Nomads” ethnovillage, presenting the culture, crafts, cuisine, music and traditional art of Kyrgyzstan’s regions.

Representatives from 38 countries attended the international festival “Kөchmөndөr Sanaty” at the Ruh Ordo cultural complex. Other events included the Echo of Nomads festival, NOMAD FEST and the Art Lab creative laboratory. International guests included musician Leo Rojas, the group AY YOLA, athletes Valentina Shevchenko and Dmitry Bivol, and actors Bai Ling and Don “The Dragon” Wilson.

The Games opened on August 31 at Bishkek Arena with a parade of delegations from participating countries. About 2,000 local media representatives were accredited to cover the event, along with around 250 journalists who arrived from abroad. The Ministry of Culture described the Games as a major international platform combining sport with the traditions and heritage of nomadic peoples.
