Nominees announced for the 2026 Emmy Awards

The contenders for the 2026 Emmy Awards have been revealed, with the medical drama "Pitt Hospital" securing the most nominations, vying for awards in 25 categories. Following closely behind is "Hacks" with 24 nominations, and "The Roost" with 19.

Among streaming platforms, HBO Max leads with 122 nominations, followed by Netflix with 111, and Apple TV with 87. This distribution highlights the continued dominance of these major players in the television landscape.

In the acting categories, "The Gilded Age" star Carrie Coon, Chase Infinity for "The Vows," Keri Russell for "The Diplomat," Rhea Seehorn for "Better Call Saul," and Zendaya for "Euphoria" are nominated for Best Actress in a Drama Series. The Best Actor in a Drama Series category features Sterling K. Brown for "The Boys," Gary Oldman for "Slow Horses," Mark Ruffalo for "Task," Rufus Sewell for "The Diplomat," and Noah Wyle for "Pitt Hospital."

Notably, Variety points out that the final season of the highly popular "Stranger Things" was shut out of acting and Best Drama Series nominations. Similarly, the ensemble cast of "Euphoria," with the exception of Zendaya and Colman Domingo (nominated for Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series), also received no acting nominations. Both series primarily secured technical nominations, with a total of seven each.
